A toe extension is a Myolite forefoot padding that extends from the superior dorsal edge of the orthotic frame to approximately 12mm past the toe of the patient’s foot. The extension is oversized along with corresponding top and bottom covers, so the orthotic may be trimmed down for the appropriate size of patient shoe gear.

Note: If a met head punch is requested, a forefoot extension is required.

CLINICAL PEARL
Extensions add bulk and thickness to an orthotic. Consider top cover thickness and amount of space available in shoe gear when selecting extension thicknesses of 3mm or greater.
